It is said in a Gorean proverb, that a man, in his heart, desires freedom, and that a woman, in her belly, yearns for love. The collar, in its way, answers both needs. The man is most free, owning the slave. He may do what he wishes with her. The woman, on the other hand is institutionally and helplessly subject, in her status as slave, to the submission of love." Slave Girl of Gor Page 180
One comes to this new and very different "land" in more then one fashion...it may have been by birth right...it may have been via the ship of acquisition...it may have been, as was the case of this lowly slave, by choice. By choice (?) one might question...yes it is so...and though it may be hard for M/many to believe or understand it is true...for this one searched to be complete her control is in the hands of her master, and she must upon mere word of her master, surrender herself, writhing, to the humiliating heats of a degraded slave girl's ecstasy. Only when a woman is owned can she be fully enjoyed." Tribesmen of Gor, page 17.
To enter this new and dangerously exciting world one will experience many, some emotionally scary, experiences. As a female from her world on earth, she had many rights...all of which she leaves behind when arriving here...for here though she is still female, she is now under strict rule with no say in how this world is governed or her own behaviour. For once her feet touched the soil of this world Counter Urth, all that she was...all that she knew, is left behind...placed upon a passing breeze and lost to the universe. Name/gone...posessions/gone...if she is lucky she will learn quickly for here she will be at the beck and call of a Master/Mistress...and if luckier still she will find herself with a Master/Mistress who will allow her to grow from within and shine in her ability to be a totally and complete woman.
They all wear collars, tis the first portion of a familiar exchange, of which Goreans are fond. The second, and concluding, portion of the exchange is, But each in her collar is different. This exchange, I think, makes clear the attitude of the Gorean toward the slave girl. In one sense, she is nothing, and is to be treated as such, but, in another sense, she is precious, and is everything."
