Life's Lessons

As well as portraying a kajira, I am an avid reader of many genre's of literature.   The other day I was reading a book and the more I read it, the more I thought about Gor for some reason.  Enjoy.  I call these life's little lessons.

If you are expecting rewards
For your virtuous actions,
If your ears are eagerly waiting
To hear your praise,
If your words are expressing pride,
then be aware that you are falling
from your own path.

Fear accompanies ignorance
From birth to death.
Anything that is a source of enjoyment
Becomes the source of fear,

Because of the fear of losing it.

We suffer in the present
by simply dwelling
In our painful memories.
If we take refuge in love,
We are no longer our past

And no longer the sufferer

We love where the love is returned;
Where the love is not responded to,
Indifference is a natural result.
But one who loves
Without expecting love in return
Is a special loving being.

A dark place is frightening,
But when lit, there is no fear.
Darkness within is also frightening,
But when love shines forth,
The fear is gone.
Take the chance.

Negative memories of past actions
Appear in the present as suffering.
But if the mind is detached from the past,

Suffering in the present ends.
Love is free from all conditions.
It shines equally for everyone,
Like the light of the sun.
But one who sits in a dark corner

Can’t experience it.
Just as the sun
Demands nothing in return
For offering its light and heat
The loving being
Demands nothing
But is always there hoping.
