I have been around Gor for some time now. I have seen Friends come and go. Rarii live and die by the steel they carry, some with honor and some without. I have seen slaves submit and beg for kolars and just shrug them off as if they were Velcro. I sit and watch the bickering of Brothers, FC's, Masters, and slaves. I listen to the complaints, whines, or just the day's events of M/most. Sometimes, all this weighs heavily upon My shoulders and I grow tired of it all. I mean of it all, Camp, and Gor. People come and people go, but still the events, actions and words they might have shared is left behind for those of us that push on to learn from. But do we learn? Have we ever stopped to reflect on a passing? Or do we dwell on only that which was bad and give thanks that that individual is now gone? Yes, sure, Gor is harsh and unfair, but that doesn't mean we can't be individuals and be fair and just in our own actions or words.
So many people online in Gor, and yet, so many camps proclaiming the same names or cities, just on different sites. This is totally sickening and confusing. I wander around, watching all the chat sites and the rooms, entering and sitting quietly observing and I still see the same things. No matter the titles or advertisements proclaiming "True Gor" or "by the Scrolls" or "by the books of John Norman" there are still discrepancies in each individual room and each individual site. No matter how close to the books you say your room is, it will not be by the "scrolls" for even Norman contradicts himself throughout the whole series. It is fantasy, so don't sit there and say "it's in the scrolls" or read this book, page so and so. Gor is a conglomerate of different cultures, times, empires, nations and people. And you can't sit there and deny the fact that Gor will never change, that advancement will never happen. Progress is just a matter of time, and that will never stop ticking.
Why must Goreans run amuck, causing trouble for others because they are so bored? When I see that in camp, I stop it dead in its tracks. Sometimes a cold shoulder will work miracles on pests wanting to pester you. Don't sit there and watch…if it is your camp, damn it, do something about it. Take some initiative and pride and look out for the well being of your camp and those within it. Even the lowliest of slaves contributes to the survival of a camp or city.
So, remember the little people of camp…give that kajira a hug and a thumbs up. Take the time to notice the camp and the members therein, take an active role in bettering Gor and not just out to hurt, maim or kill. Taking the time to help better Gor will help better whom you are. Be careful of your actions and your words. Be detailed and descriptive. Pay attention to detail and above all, hold
Honor above all things and you cannot go wrong. At least as long, as you're not just an idiot and want only to have cyber sex. If you are, go to a picture room or someplace other than
Gor, pervert.
